Game fish will normally lay in waiting just outside the beams rays of both the floating fishing lights and the underwater fishing lights, waiting for unsuspecting bait fish to wonder outside of the beams rays, or often they will dart in and catch a bait fish and dart back out to there hiding area. Many times the bait fish do not even suspect that the game fish are even around. Floating fishing lights are also classified as 12 volt fishing lights, and can be powered by any 12 volt battery source. My personal preference is to use a car battery. I power both my floating fishing lights and my underwater fishing lights from this power source. A fully charged car battery will last me a full last me all night. I than recharge the battery when I go home. Both underwater fishing lights and floating fishing lights normally come with alligator clips and makes hooking them to the power source very simple.

Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) mengajukan usulan pagu sementara sebesar Rp6,09 triliun kepada DPR guna mencapai visinya untuk kesejahteraan masyarakat khususnya nelayan.Beberapa hal yang diusulkan untuk dapat dialokasikan dalam pagu sementara tahun 2011 dengan tujuan pengembangan program minapolitan, pengembangan pulau-pulau kecil," kata Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Fadel Muhammad, dalam rapat kerja dengan Komisi IV DPR di Jakarta, kemarin.
Menurutnya, penambahan anggaran itu bertujuan untuk pengembangan program minapolitan, pengembangan pulau-pulau kecil sehingga bernilai ekonomi, pengembangan integrated surveillance system dan peningkatan kapasitas dalam rangka mendapat opini Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian.
Fadel juga menjelaskan, usulan pagu sementara tersebut nantinya akan digunakan untuk memewujudkan arah kebijakan dan strategi KKP sebagaimana yang terdapat dalam 10 arahan presiden.
Dalam penjabaran 10 arahan tersebut KKP telah menentukan kebijakan dan strategi dengan mengembangkan minapolitan yang mampu menghasilkan produk unggulan, memberikan bantuan dan pengembangan wirausaha mandiri perikanan, meningkatkan akses modal masyarakat kelautan dan perikanan kepada sumber ekonomi. Neons are an all time favorite among freshwater aquarium owners. In any given mouth approximately 1.8 million neon tetras are exported to the US alone. Their petite size most certainly contributes to their popularity. They rarely exceed an inch and a quarter in length. You can keep an entire school of them in an aquarium no bigger than 5 gallons. They are the perfect choice for desktop nano tanks.
These dazzling little beauties will add brilliance and color to any aquarium. The iridescent blue horizontal stripe that runs just above their spines almost glows under aquarium lights. Just below the blue, a second bright red stripe runs from mid-body to the base of their tail. These radiant colors are transposed against a translucent body. Their fins are transparent. You can see right through them.
There is a slightly more colorful member of the tetra family. Neons and cardinal tetras look very similar in appearance. Put them in the same aquarium together and most people wouldn't be aware they are two different species. Both have metallic neon blue upper bodies and a brilliant red stripe in the center of their bodies. This stripe is found mid-body running to back the tail in neons. The stripe runs the entire length of a cardinal's body.
Neons are by nature a skittish species. They spook rather easily. They are also very small fish that could easily be perceived as a source of nutrition by larger species. They do however make excellent community fish if you take these factors into consideration. An abundance of plants and or rockwork will provide sufficient hiding place and help them feel confident in their new surroundings. Avoid keeping them with species that will grow large enough to ingest them. Following these simple rules will keep your neons healthy, happy and most importantly, alive!

Their petite size most certainly contributes to their popularity. They rarely exceed an inch and a quarter in length. You can keep an entire school of them in an aquarium no bigger than 5 gallons. They are the perfect choice for desktop nano tanks.
These dazzling little beauties will add brilliance and color to any aquarium. The iridescent blue horizontal stripe that runs just above their spines almost glows under aquarium lights. Just below the blue, a second bright red stripe runs from mid-body to the base of their tail. These radiant colors are transposed against a translucent body. Their fins are transparent. You can see right through them.
There is a slightly more colorful member of the tetra family. Neons and cardinal tetras look very similar in appearance. Put them in the same aquarium together and most people wouldn't be aware they are two different species. Both have metallic neon blue upper bodies and a brilliant red stripe in the center of their bodies. This stripe is found mid-body running to back the tail in neons. The stripe runs the entire length of a cardinal's body.
Neons are by nature a skittish species. They spook rather easily. They are also very small fish that could easily be perceived as a source of nutrition by larger species. They do however make excellent community fish if you take these factors into consideration. An abundance of plants and or rockwork will provide sufficient hiding place and help them feel confident in their new surroundings. Avoid keeping them with species that will grow large enough to ingest them. Following these simple rules will keep your neons healthy, happy and most importantly, alive!
Neons are mid-tank swimmers. They are shoaling fish. Shoaling fish do not cope well when isolated from other members of their own species. Many will not survive in solitude. It is advisable to have at least four neons in your aquarium. This will help to insure that they adjust well to their new environment.
There is yet another factor to consider when deciding whether these fish are right for your particular aquarium. Tetras are notorious fin nippers. The more neons you have together, the higher the likelihood that this will become a problem. Long, flowing fins like those found on a betta fish or a fancy tailed guppies will most likely prove to be a taste treat to tempting to pass up.
This is a hardy species. These omnivores have an extremely high survivability rate in captivity. They are not finicky eaters. A good quality flake food for omnivores is the perfect staple for their dietary needs. The average life expectancy of neon tetras in captivity is 5+ years.
The exportation of species for hobby fish trade began to boom shortly after World War II. Neon tetras were among the first species to be sold under the label, tropical fish. Their introduction to Europe and the US helped to fuel what is now the multi-million dollar aquarium trade industry. At one time these fish commanded an insanely high price tag. Commercial fish farms have since brought their price well within range of the average aquarium enthusiast and made them one of the most popular fish in the world today.

Ikan lele ternyata tak hanya dapat diolah sebagai menu masakan berkuah atau digoreng dengan bumbu sambal pedas. Di tangan Murti Rahayu, daging lele dapat dibuat abon dengan nilai ekonomi yang menggiurkan. Bahkan, abon lele buatannya kini mampu menembus pasar ekspor.

Selain dikenal sebagai daerah pertanian yang subur, wilayah Majenang sejak lama juga dikenal dengan perikanan darat-nya. Air yang melimpah mendukung pengembangan usaha mina tersebut Salah satu jenis ikan yang banyak dibudi-dayakan warga setempat adalah lele.
Namun, melimpahnya lele kerap tak ditunjang pemasaran dan kestabilan harga. Banyak petani lele pun jatuh bangun.
Kondisi tersebut menjadi keprihatinan tersendiri bagi Murti yang juga menjadi Ketua Asosiasi Perajin dan Pengusaha Kecil Majenang. Pada pertengahan tahun 2007, dia terpikir membuat penganan olahan dari lele yang dapat dijual kemasan dan punya nilai ekonomis tinggi.
"Bayangan saya yang pertama adalah mengolah lele menjadi abon. Daging sapi saja bisa jadi abon, kenapa lele tidak," turur ibu tiga anak ini. . Kebetulan, di rumahnya, sejak lama Murti membuka warung lesehan dengan menu aneka masakan ikan air tawar. Jadi, mengolah lele bukan hal baru.
Dibantu putri bungsunya, Indira K Paramita (29), Murti pun bereksperimen abon lele. Percobaan awal ini tak sepenuhnya berhasil. Sulit mengurangi tingginya kandungan minyak pada abon lele. Abon pun cepat tengik atau basi.
Selang beberapa hari, dia menemukan mesin pres tangan untuk mengurangi minyak. Sejak itu Murti berani menawarkan abon lele buatannya kepada teman dan tetangganya Respons mereka positif. Abon lele Murti tak kalah dengan abon sapi.
Murti pun kian percaya diri. Tiga bulan setelah eksperimen, Murti mulai memasarkan abon-nya yang bermerek Nazelia itu ke supermarket di Majenang dan Cilacap. Respons pasar lumayan. Dalam tiga hari abon lele itu ludes. Permintaan pun mengalir. Dia menjual abonnya seharga Rp 13.000 per satu kemasan plastik seberat 1 ons atau 100 gram.
Murti kian serius menekuni usaha abon lele. Selain celah pasar yang ada, usaha abon lele tak membutuhkan modal yang besar pada tahapan awal. Hal ini tak terlepas dari relatif murahnya harga ikan lele di Majenang.
Harga ikan lele hanya Rp 11.000 per kilogram (kg). Setiap kilogram menghasilkan 3 ons abon. Tiap 1 ons dijual Rp
13.000 sehingga keuntungan kotor tiga kali lipat Keuntungan itu dikurangi biaya minyak goreng dan plastik kemasan. "Untung bersihnya 30-50 persen," ungkap Murti.
Selain dagingnya, kulit lele dimanfaatkan menjadi keripik. Namun, jumlahnya sangat terbatas. Dari 10 kg lele, hanya menghasilkan sekitar 15 bungkus keripik ukuran 100 gram. Keripik lele ini hanya jadi usaha sampingan Murti
Tak sulit membuat abon lele. Daging ikan lele dibumbui seperti dendeng dengan ketumbar, merica putih, bawang putih, dangaram serta gula. Setelah direbus dengan bumbu hingga me-resap, barulah digoreng kering.
Daging lele dipres hingga seluruh minyaknya keluar dan tersisa serbuk halus kecoklatan. Rasanya manis gurih dengan aroma bawang dan ketumbar yang kuat. Ada pula yang dicampur dengan bawang merah goreng, seperti lazimnya abon sapi.
Abon lele dikemas dalam plastik berlabel. Setiap saat bisa dinikmati. Dengan rasanya yang gurih, abon ini cukup ditabur-kan di atas nasi atau ketan hangat sebagai lauk.
Hingga enam bulan pertama, kapasitas produksi abon lele Murti hanya 3 kilogram lele per hari. Namun, seiring permintaan yang terus meningkat dan pemasaran yang kian luas ke kota-kota besar, seperti Yogyakarta, Semarang, dan Purwokerto, kebutuhan bahan baku lele pun terus bertambah.
Apalagi, setelah dia mampu membeli mesin pres dari Surabaya, Jawa Timur, seharga Rp 2 juta, Murti Wan percaya diri memasarkan produknya lebih luas. Dengan mesin baru itu, kualitas abonnya kian tinggi. Saat itu izin dari Badan Penga-wasan Obat dan Makanan sudah dikantonginya. Sertifikasi Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUD pun telah menyatakan bahwa abon Idenya halal.
Pada pertengahan 2008, Murti menjadi mitra binaan PT Pertamina Cilacap. Selain membantu permodalan melalui kredit lunak, badan usaha milik negara tersebut juga membantu pemasaran dengan cara memfasilitasi mitra binaannya mengikuti pameran-pameran.
"Saya sangat bersyukur bisa difasilitasi mengikuti pameran. Rasanya tak mungkin kalau ikut pameran sendiri karena biayanya sangat mahal. Buat ongkos transpor, sewa stan, dan ako-modasinya tinggi," ujarnya.
Pameran produk kerajinan usaha kecil yang pernah diikutinya, di antaranya, adalah di Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Semarang, dan Surabaya.
Keikutsertaan dalam aneka pameran tersebut sangat membantu Murti dalam memperkenalkan produknya kepada masyarakat Pernah dalam sebulan dia mendapat kesempatan tiga kali pameran. Selain dapat memperkenalkan produknya, pada saat pameran Murti juga dapat menjual abonnya dalam jumlah lumayan besar.
Sayangnya, langkah kreatif Murti lewat abon lele itu kurang mendapat dukungan dari pemerintah daerah setempat Jangankan bantuan kredit, fasilitas mengikuti pameran pun tak pernah ada. "Pernah diajak pameran sampai pemda, tetapi semua biaya kami yang menanggung. Malah tombok. Padahal, katanya sudah ada dana dari APBD. Bukannya kami pelit, tetapi kami ini hanyalah perajin kecil. Toh, kalau produk kami dikenal, yang dapat nama pemda juga," katanya.
Sejak tahun 2009, produksi abon lele Murti rata-rata per hari menghabiskan 10 kilogram lele atau 500 kilogram lele per bulan. Pasarnya pun kian luas hingga Jakarta, Bandung, dan Denpasar.
Untuk 10 kilogram lele dapat diolah menjadi 3 kilogram abon. Dalam sehari, rata-rata Murti dapat menghasilkan penjualan kotor Rp 300.000-Rp 400.000.
Saat pameran produk-produk khas Nusantara di Jakarta pada pertengahan 2009, produk abon lele Murti dilirik konsumen luar negeri. Salah satunya seorang distributor makanan asal Belanda. Sejak saat itu Murti mulai dapat mengekspor abon lelenya ke Negeri Kincir Angin itu.
Dalam sebulan, rata-rata dia dapat mengekspor 10 kilogram abon lele ke Belanda. Ekspor tersebut dilakukan melalui distributor di Jakarta.
"Daging ikan lele mengandung protein dan rendah lemak sehingga bisa dikonsumsi oleh mereka yang berdiet lemak. Karena itulah, orang dari Belanda itu suka abon lele saya," katanya.
Sebenarnya, selain dari Belanda, ada permintaan abon lele dari negara lain. Namun, karena belum memahami prosedur ekspor dan modal yang terbatas, dia belum berani mengambil kesempatan tersebut
Meski demikian, dia sudah sangat bersyukur dengan apa yang diraihnya saat ini Dia tak menyangka abon lelenya yang dibuat dengan cara sederhana itu kini melanglang buana hingga ke Eropa
"Jumlahnya, sih, memang belum banyak, tetapi saya sudah sangat senang karena abon lele saya disukai banyak orang, bahkan sampai di luar negeri," kata Murti.
